When is the best time to visit?

It is difficult to predict when the garden will be in peak bloom. Mother Nature has a tendency to keep us guessing. It is best to check our Tulip Watch. Our staff keeps a daily a vlog on the garden’s conditions and bloom status.

What is it like to be at the gardens?

Our guest and fan, Stephanie made a great vlog about her annual trip to Crystal Hermitage. Watch it here.

What’s the weather like?

Keep in mind. This is the spring season and we are located near the Tahoe National Park.
Our weather can be unpredictable. Come prepared for all types of spring weather. Visit our Tulip Watch for vlogs from the garden. The videos and commentary of our staff can give you an idea of the weather and garden conditions. *Note the weather can change hourly.

Is your garden handicap accessible?

We get a lot of questions about the garden’s accessibility for wheelchairs. Limited accessibility blogger Jeri writes, “Although the gardens are not 100% accessible for wheelchair users or others who cannot climb stairs, I believe there is enough access to make it worth a visit.”

She writes, “While my initial fear was that the gardens were inaccessible to wheelchair users or people with mobility challenges (due to the many sets of stairs used to access the garden terraces) I’m glad to say I was wrong!” Her blog she photographs the areas and describes how to access it. Anything is possible travel.

What are your photography guidelines?

Photography is a wonderful way to remember your visit at Crystal Hermitage Gardens. For your own enjoyment, visitors are welcome to take photographs and videos during their visit. Handheld cameras and camera phones are welcome. Please read our photography guidelines in entirety here.

Can I bring my pet?

We do not allow pets in the garden. The only exception is service animals. We highly discourage leaving pets in the car especially during hot weather days.

Can I have a picnic in the gardens?

No picnics are allowed at the garden. We do not have the trash and facilities to support this activity. Master’s Market in downtown Ananda Village has picnics and restrooms for your use.

Is there parking available?

We have 3 parking lots available. The closest is reserved for those with disabilities or limited mobility.  On busy days we have a shuttle to transport people parked in the lots further away.
